It's been a while since my dad gave me a gift for my birthday. It was a desktop computer, and until recently have I managed to replace it with something more powerful. Heroes of Newerth is a breeze, not to mention the fresh clean slate of 320GB. I'm still using a 15" CRT monitor though, so I'll have to wait next payday for a new LCD monitor as well.

Anyway, I'm just satisfied that I can now buy my own things. :)

Hello once again everyone! Whew~ Our blog has been stagnant for quite some time now, and we haven't got the chance to post due to our busy work weeks. :( This time, however, we'll manage to post new stuff, and to go back and developing Adobe AIR widgets to share. Hope you guys and gals still visit every once in a while, and we promise to entertain you more. :)

Also, we have plans on moving to Wordpress, but we have to backup and other things to do, lots of stuff. Maybe we'll stick around here for the meantime.

PSP Emulators

I've been searching on the Internet on how I could play Super Mario Bros on my PSP. and wow, thanks to my friend, he gave me this game.rar file that contains all the emulators for PSP. (hooray!) After I've downloaded the file, he also gave me NES Games which contains Super Mario Bros 3, Adventure Island, Castlevania, and a lot more. And then I remembered all the games I played before... Circus Charlie, Twin Bee, Battle City, Mappy... oh my, it's been more than a decade now since I last played these games. I so missed it! And while I was searching for more NES ROM, I saw this..

DotA 6.60

Finally! The long wait is finally over. After 4 months of re-visiting the Dota All Stars Blog to read the updates and the release date of 6.60, the map that we've been waiting for is finally released! Everyone was so excited that when you visit GetDota right now, it's forbidden. It is either everyone wants to download it right away or it is experiencing some problems on its server.

MUST download NOW.

Debi and I are excited to test this map (MUST play later). Here are some of the highlights of the new map:

New heroes like Batrider and Tauren Chieftain,
Improved Razor (aaah! my favorite), viper, vengeful, medusa, etc.
New items.
Reorganized heroes into taverns
Reorganized all the recipe shops
New game modes such as CaptainsDraft (-cd), Randomside(-rs), -random Agility/Strength/Intelligence.
New Hero kill sounds for 4x and 5x kills. (i wonder what it is)
and of course, bug fixes.

Hi readers! it's been a while! *we've been busy lately*. Anyway, if I may ask, what web browser are you using? Is it consuming too much of your computer memory? Or do you have any ideas that you want in a browser?

Debi and I are planning to release a web browser named dcBrowser, a lightweight and simple web browser that you can use. We are still finalizing and fixing some bugs, but we plan on releasing a beta version soon. Hope you guys, will download it and help us improve this browser by e-mailing us your suggestions and reporting bugs, or any suggestion you might want to throw in.

We're actually developing small apps for Adobe AIR to see where we can go from here. From small-memory browsers to productivity apps, we're looking for desktop widgets to develop to make our lives in front of the computer easier.

Cody visited the house last Saturday to eat dinner @Mall of Asia with us. But before that, I was busy with my gunpla-ing. A bit annoyed, she asked if she could try painting some parts. And boy, is she really good at it! Must be from her manicure/pedicure skills.. Haha!

It's April Fools Day today everyone, so BEWARE of all the pranks out there.. May it be issues, news, stories, etc.. I remembered the last time I read the La Sallian newspaper, way back 2006. There's an article on using La Salle ID as LRT pass. It's like LRT pass and ID in one. When I read it out to my blockmates who usually rides the train, they were amazed and excited about the news. They almost believed it, when we saw the month issue. APRIL. We all looked at each other, and laughed out loud. We were fooled! hahahaha! so, beware, ok? =)

Going back, here are snapshots of reality to open our eyes in our current situation.. A simple reminder..

We usually drink coffee to socialize and have a lifestyle even though the weather is HOT.

Because of the current economic crisis and recession, almost all graduates are having a hard time looking for a job. Our country is like a desert, that we all want to quench our thirst for a job, instead of water. =p

This one shows how selfish we are, sometimes, when it comes to money. As a son/daughter, our parents are very proud once we graduate, because they work very hard to be able to send us to school and have good manners. Isn't giving them a share on your salary is just a way of appreciating their hard work for us?

Anyway, enough of this. Time to share to you these miniature landscapes. How I wish I could do something like these.

At first glance, it kinda look real.. right?

Hooray for toys! I remember back in the day when I attended my first anime event, which was the 1st NCC or the National Cosplay Competition. Sure there were a lot of cosplayers in all their glory, but there were also display stands of really cool model kits and toys from collectors. I really liked Gundam kits back then, but never got the chance to build one. But now that I can manage to squeeze one kit every now and then, and it's all good.

Recently I attended an event dubbed TAGCOM 3rd Strike: Toys and Hobby Collections at the Robinsons Midtown Mall last Saturday, March 1. It was a 2-day event, but I only went on the second day to see the cosplayers, which is always a welcome sight in any otaku event. Arrived at the mall around 2pm, and managed to snap some pictures while looking around for some really neat stuff.

Saw this section of the place (which is by the way pretty small than all the events I've been to) where these really cool RC cars were drifting. Here's a vid:

loved the part at 00:14 :P

and like all new collectors, it's hard to resist to see a limited edition model kit on sale. XD

Hooray for new dev! Now I am excited for Ozine Fest 2k9. :D

EDIT: Goodies from Japan just arrived, and another hooray + woot woot for these!

Love is all around you..

February, the month of love, has already whizzed by past us. Some of us were lucky and had a good time with our special someone during the love month, some were not so lucky, while some preferred to be alone and have fun with our own families and friends.

My message for today is for those who weren't so lucky, and might as well to everyone who might be a little lost in finding love.

"We can always find love in the least expected places or situations."

This was taken along the walkway just outside of PS Bank Center, parallel to Paseo De Roxas, Makati. Not a lot of people actually see it, but if you happen to pass by, it's just right in the middle of the walkway.

So whenever you're feeling down and lonely, always remeber that love is never lost, and is always around you. :)

Collection and Hobbies

Everyone wants to collect something.. may it be Hello Kitty stuff, Gundam, Tamiya 4WD, Barbie collection, etc. etc. So, what have you been collecting lately?

Ever since Debi shared me this Saber Lion nendoroid picture,

I found all other nendoroids to be cute, and me wanting to collect all of them. The size of each nendoroid is more or less 3-4 inches. So I looked for other nendoroid pictures on the net (while i'm not doing anything at the office) and I found out that it costs around Php1,500- Php 5,000, depending on its quality and number of extra features thrown in. I must say, it's a bit expensive for me. >_<

THESE are our collection of stuff toys caught from the Dream Catcher machine at Timezone. They all have names, [from left to right] Froggy - the frog, Fifi - the giraffe, Octet - small octopus, Peach - octopus, Crabby - crab, Bububear - bear, Nozzy - dog with big nose, Weee - dog with big ears and Toitoi - the turtle! :)

When we want to de-stress from everything, we go to Timezone to play, and as much as possible bring home at least one toy.

And for office decoration :D, I created a lot of cubeecraft toys to display it on my workstation.

Hey! it's easy to have that cubeecraft models, you just need some a4 paper, scissors, and cutter, and visit cubeecraft site and print out their cool patterns. Simple right? You don't need any paste/glue to put them all together.

I've been watching Gintama series for a few months now, and I was really happy when Debi accompanied me to Toys R Us - Rob Galleria, to show me these Gintama Gashapon Collection.

MUST try restaurant

Looks delicious huh?

Last week, Debi and I tried out a new restaurant located in Diosdado Macapagal highway named Yakimix.

It's an EAT-ALL-YOU-CAN, DRINK-ALL-YOU-CAN and DESSERT-ALL-YOU-CAN restaurant with two types of cuisine to choose from, either Japanese or Korean.

We got there around 11:15am and there were still no food served, so to take some time off, I took a photo of the place.

Cozy ambiance eh? Around 11:30, they started to bring in the food.

I had a hard time choosing what to get first. So I took one, for each food served.

They have the *to grill* section,

soup section (no pic), cooked food section,

vegetable salad section, sushi and sashimi section...

I'm not yet satisfied until we got some DESSERTS!

strawberry shortcake! my favorite! :)

and.. fresh fruits!

and for the price? For us, we think it's very affordable.

DotA Hero Ultimates.. explained!

I'd like to share some DotA knowledge regarding some of the cool hero ultimates and how they actually work. Warning: very wordy, but if you're a player, it's quite cool to know how these simple skills are put into motion. Read on! :)

Vengeful Spirit's Nether Swap

Based on Forked Lightning (dummy).

When the spell is casted, a trigger checks for the place where Shendelzare is, if it is not a walkable terrain, then issue a stop order to Shendelzare and display the name of a unit called "Cannot Use Netherswap here" (n03B).

When the skill goes into effect, save the X and Y coordinates of both Shendelzare and the target unit, then creates a timer that expires after 0 seconds have passed (aka instantly). When it expires, the units each get moved to the position of the other (if it matters, Shendelzare is first moved to the Position of the target). Then the lightning (aka the special effect) is added, and then all trees that are in a 300 Square AoE from both Shendelzare and the target get destroyed.

This skill when used interrupts all issued orders of both Shendelzare and the target unit, also interrupting channeling spells. While this skill is a blink like spell, it does not share the "Blink dodge", so using it while a Storm Bolt is flying towards you will not make you evade it.

Crystal Maiden's Freezing Field
The base spell of this skill is Channel, with a follow through time of 4 seconds (aka 4 seconds channeling).

When the effect of this spell is started, create a new trigger (1) with both a periodic timed event every 0.1 seconds) and a End Spellcast event, then "Hero" and "Level" (which is the level of Freezing Field or the level+1 if it was casted with Aghanim's) are saved to the cache.

(1): Recovers "Hero" and Level" from the cache, then count all enemy nondummy nonstructure alive noncycloned nonancient (except spirit bear) unit in a 655 AoE from Rylai and for each one of them: Create a dummy unit (e00E), give it a Slow ability (A10T) and tell to use it the enum unit. Now, create an angle random real between 0-90 or 90-180 or 180-270 or 270-360 (depending on which iteration it is, creating a cycle every four), a distance random real between 125-635. If the trigger was called because Freezing Field has finished casting, this trigger is destroyed (why isn't this check at the beginning so it's not that confusing?). Now, show the special effect in the angle and distance from Rylai that was randomly generated, then count all enemy nondummy nonstructure alive non cycloned nonancient (except Spirit Bear) in a 214 AoE, and for each of them make Rylai damage the enum unit for 105/170/250/310 ammount with Attack Type Spells, Damage Type Fire.

The slow is being constantly reapplied to all units in the Freezing Field AoE, not only the units that are "hit" by the skill. It slows for 1 seconds giving -30% MS and -20 IAS.

Earthshaker's Echo Slam:

The base of this spell is Fan of Knives, which provides the initial 165/230/285 damage. Note that the skill tooltip says this skill does 200/275/350, and that's because every unit is also affected by its own echo.

When its effect is started, the trigger counts every enemy non structure non dummy unit in a 500 range from Raigor (note that the trigger does not care if the enemy unit is alive or dead). Then, for each of those units, create a dummy unit on top of the enemy, give them a Fan of knives ability with its level equal to that of Raigor's Earthshock and make the unit cast the spell.

The Fan of Knives the dummy units have does 35/45/65 damage in a 500 AoE. Remember: This skill can Echo of bodies. If an enemy is spell immune when this happens, only the 165/230/285 damage will happen and the other damage will be prevented.

Pretty wordy.. Juggernaut's Omnislash:

The Base Ability of Omnislash is Storm Bolt, with a 0.01 seconds duration at all levels.

1.-When the ability's effect is started, the ability level of Blade Fury is stored in a variable. Depending on the level of Omnislash, a variable is assigned with 3/5/8. Now, if the player has leveled BladeFury, make BladeFury unavailable for that player. Now, make the player deselect Yurnero (this is only if it's the owner of Yurnero). Make Yurnero's vertex 255,255,255,125 (this one is to make him look like he does while Omni), disable his pathing and make him invulnerable. Then the Hero and the Target are stored in the game cache. And a timer with 0 seconds is done.

2.-At the time out of the timer, this new function is done which recovers the Hero and Target variables from the cache, and call another function:

3.-This new function takes the Hero and Target, then creates a random number between 0 and 360, the Hero is now moved 50 units away from the target in the random real, making him face the target and force the Attack Animation, show the Blink Caster effect on Yurnero then make him damage the target for a random number between 150 and 250 with Attack Type Hero and Damage Type Normal. He's then told to attack the target.

4.-We now return to the first trigger. Now it saves the following variables to the gamecache: Hero (Yurnero), Limit (Maximum number of slashes), BFLevel (Blade Fury level, to know what level regive Yurnero later), Counter (2), FX (the Phoenix missile which is attached to Yurnero's weapon). This trigger now creates a new trigger with 2 conditions, one is a timed event every 0.4 seconds and the other is if Yurnero is selected.

5.-This new function recovers the variables Hero Limit BFLevel and Counter. It firsts sees if it was called because Yurnero has been selected, if it is it then checks if it was the owner of Yurnero, if it was him, make him deselect Yurnero. If it was called because of timed event, see if Counter is higher than Limit, if it is, check if BFLevel has been leveled and make it available once again. Restore Yurnero's Pathing, Vertex, Clear the selection of the owning player then add Yurnero to the selection of him, and finally the trigger is destroyed. If the counter is lower or equal, then Raise the counter once, call a new function:

6.-This new function counts every visible non ancient (except Spirit Bear) non dummy non structure enemy unit in a 575 AoE, then picks a random unit in that group, and if there's a unit call the Damage Dealing trigger said above (number 3). Now, we get back to the function one line before here (number 5).

7.-Now, if there was no unit to blink to in Omnislash, check if BFLevel has been leveled and make it available once again. Restore Yurnero's Pathing, Vertex, Clear the selection of the owning player then add Yurnero to the selection of him. Then destroy the trigger.

The first slash of this ability always happen before the ministun hits, while the second slash may happen before, depending on the fact if you casted Omnislash at full distance or not.

Beastmaster's Roar:

Based on Storm Bolt, which provides the Stun and Damage to the main target.

When it goes into effect, it first saves to the gamecache "g" (an empty group now), "Angle" (the angle between Rexxar and the target), "x" and "y" (Rexxar's position) and create a timed periodic trigger every 0.025 seconds (1). Now, three dummy units (o00Y) are created at 50,250,450 distance from Rexxar at the angle discribed before. Then for all three dummy units, give them a timed life of 1 second, give them a thunderclap ability (A0NY) and tell them to use it, then count all enemy non-ancient (except spirit bear) non dummy non structure alive not cycloned and adds them to a group (do note that this is the same group that was saved to the cache earlier). Then for the group created by counting units from a 250 AoE from the dummy, make Rexxar damage the unit with 100*PrimalRoarlvl Attack Type Spell, Damage Type Fire.

(1): Recovers "Angle", "X", "Y" and "G" from the cache, sees if it has been run more than 16 times (0.4 seconds), if it has then destroy the trigger. If it hasn't, make each unit of the group G make the unit's position be 15 units away from the angle of Primal Roar in a 90º angle. Then in 0.3 seconds later, make the unit face the Primal Roar. Finally, put the Ancient Protector missile animation on their feet.

Note that since the ThunderClap has 250 AoE (hardcoded) and the trigger counts units in a 250 AoE (triggered), there's a slim chance to the units be slowed 50% but not moved away or receive the secondary damage.

Weekend in Pictures

my, how the weekends for me go by so fast. I'm starting to get bored going to malls, tired of all the walking and stuff.. But, every now and then, you get to meet friends, hangout, and have a blast. Now, for the feature!

First up is friend Tongco's Magic Cup from Japan!

Seems like an ordinary cup, but Tongco went out of the way to buy coffee and pour it on this beauty:

The cup is not joking. No, really. So it changes color when the cup is hot. And of course, the images are so.. well, it came from Japan! :D I long for the day when they apply this technology to sweatsuits. Nice, eh?

Next up are some stills on the Greenbelt Park, located at Makati (as if you've never been there.) I took some because they look so awesome, and it really gets the people there to sit and relax.

Finally, Destiny a.k.a "Fly, Gundam, FLY!!!" dubbed by Cody is finally complete, after 1+ month of sanding galore, and I think I did a better job than before, especially since I really slowed down on my progress, taking into account whatever details it has. Tried toothpick painting as well and some Tamiya Cement to take care of the joining plastic. Not perfect, but great. FLY!!!!!!

My old Avalanche for an action pose. I made the Seven-Sword System look like it's coming from behind Exia by sticking the swords with some Blu-Tack. I was inspired by the scene on FF7: Advent Children, but couldn't quite make it work. Maybe with better skills soon.

And now a fight-off! I personally believe that Gundam 00 technology is way better than GSD technology.
And so after finishing one, it's time to start on "Bones". 17 runners (the plastic where all the parts are still intact) is an up for my skills, hopefully. Can't wait! :D

the movie Underworld 3: The Rise of the Lycans last Saturday with college friends. I had a hard time choosing whether to watch Yes Man or Underworld 3, but, still.. majority win! boooo! It was good although there were barbaric scenes, blood flowing, torture, etc. etc. But we still managed to make some scenes and lines, funny.

My fellow citizens:

I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition.

Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often, the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because We the People have remained faithful to the ideals of our forebearers, and true to our founding documents.

So it has been. So it must be with this generation of Americans.

That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age. Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet.

These are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics. Less measurable but no less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land -- a nagging fear that America's decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sights.

Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America: They will be met.

On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.

On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn-out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.

We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things. The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.

This is the journey we continue today. We remain the most prosperous, powerful nation on Earth. Our workers are no less productive than when this crisis began. Our minds are no less inventive, our goods and services no less needed than they were last week or last month or last year. Our capacity remains undiminished. But our time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions -- that time has surely passed. Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America.

For everywhere we look, there is work to be done. The state of the economy calls for action, bold and swift, and we will act -- not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth. We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together. We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost. Hello again everyone! It's been a whirlwind since the holiday greetings that Cody and I haven't got much of a chance to update. As far as I can remember...

- Was sick for half of the holiday season, which was pretty bad

- Received nice holiday gifts for meself :D

- Got a chance to bond with 'ol cousins of mine at Enchanted Kingdom

- Cody visit the house for some Uno Stacko action with my siblings

- Some spare time to go back on my work in progress - Destiny Gundam

- Finally bought that shirt I was hunting malls for.

Planner with Tabs

a customized planner with tabs. I've been eye-ing the Cosmo planner because it's much cheaper than the Belle De Jour planner. Last Sunday, I went back to National Bookstore to buy the Cosmo planner, but sadly, it was out of stock. I don't want to buy it without plastic. Then my mom remembered that when she bought the Yummy Magazine - December Issue, a Goldilocks planner was in it. I didn't like the cover page so I created a customized planner with tabs.

To Make a customized planner with tabs...

What you need:

Planner
Glue
Scissors
Bond Paper
Old Magazines
Tape
Adhesive Index Tabs

How to do it:

Cover the planner with bond paper
Ready your cut-out pictures from the old magazine
Paste your cut-out pictures at the front and back cover of the planner
Cut the Adhesive index tabs into 4 pcs each tab.
Label the tabs and put it to where you want it.

Gundam Plastic = GunPla!

Inspired by the works of DannyChoo in Gundam modelling, I decided to give it a shot. I don't have a hobby anyway, so why not? I've been a fan of the metseries since Gundam Wing, but couldn't quite get updated due to little TV time and no internet exposure back then. It was revived when I watched Gundam SEED Destiny, and I couldn't believe my eyes that mobile suits are now combining to become a Gundam. It really amazed me. Then I followed up with their new series, Gundam 00, which is really cool, it gives me goosebumps watching the action sequences.

And so, after saving up money, I bought my first kit! I was so excited, I didn't get the time to research first on how to build, what tools I need, and stuff. I did it with a pair of nail clippers and some sandpaper. And I did it 11 hours tops, with only lunch and dinner as breaks. Silly me. I now present you, GN-001/hs-A01 Gundam Avalanche Exia!

It wasn't shown on the anime, but it was a cool upgrade of the protagonist mobile suit in Gundam 00. But there were mistakes all over the place, like uneven parts, seam lines, bits of plastic left from the part, and bah, more ugliness. But I forgave myself, because I rushed the building part of the experience. Now I'm exhausting the Internet for tutorials and tips, just so I could at least get better and be proud of myself.
I bought 2 more so I could put what I have learned to the test, with 1 work in progress, and the other was immediately tucked under the Christmas Tree.

I learned a no-paint technique, which I'm going to try with this one. I don't have a budget for paint now, so I'm going to sandpaper this model kit away. Also, I'm trying not to rush, although it looks like it'll take me days..

but it's okay. It feels great when I accomplished my first kit, so I think this hobby is going to stick for a while. Stay tune for updates! :D

Texas Smoke'em!

at Texas Smoke'em restaurant last night for some catch-up with my fellow S11 blockmates at DLSU-Manila It was all in good time, because it was dinner after a hard day's work, and then some who came just to eat and have a good time with good friends..

Early birds were me, Kev, Bayce, Allen and Czed. We had some Jalapeno Nachos which were consumed faster than you can say "Sarap!". And it was pretty cool too, because there were yellow and violet, and some pink chips. Again, didn't have the time to take a picture. Tsk.

And then the people started piling up. I looked at their menu, and I have to say that the prices were very reasonable. I didn't have the time to take pictures here and there because it's really been a while since we all sat down and talk to each other. What I do have a picture of, is this one:

Yeap, Beer and the others have done a lot in making everyone a little more beautiful/handsome. Thanks, Beer and friends! Now we know why we are 6.7 billion strong, and counting..

So we ordered, and I got me one of these:

That's half a slab of baby back ribs, BBQ Sausages, Chorizo Rice, Mexican Chili, with some Banana Chips. For less than 500 pesos. NEAT. YUM. I actually didn't eat some afternoon snacks just for this one.

And since I was really in a tight spot on the table, I just let the others do the picture-taking.

Almost the same people. Others were too busy chomping down their food. Hate vegetables much? I think those are Romain lettuces leftovers.. Haha

S11, we should do this more often.. :D I really enjoyed eating and hanging around with you guys.. and about three girls. (Bayce, Kat, and the late but jolly Rose).

A Trip to Manila Ocean Park - Oceanarium experience

to Manila Ocean Park last December 6 (sorry for the late post). We got there by riding a bus and a taxi. I know for sure there are other ways of commuting going to MOP.

Admission are 400php for Adults and 350php for Kids (4.5 ft. and below) or you could get it free! if you are 2 feet and below.. Discounts are also given to schools, corporate, events, etc.

We got there at around 11am. Luckily even though there were a lot of students having their field trip, we didn't have to wait in a long line. (whew!)

Our journey to the Oceanarium is divided into many stops.

The first stop was Agos. There's an artificial waterfall and of course, fishes. We felt like we were inside a forest.

We find this fish very interesting. According to its description, this Harlequin Tuskfish starts life female. The dominant female tuskfish undergoes a physical sex change to become male. wooooow!

Pajama CardinalfishThese fish are nocturnal and do most of their feeding at nighttime. They are also known for being mouth brooders where eggs are incubated inside the mouth of the fish.

This giant spider crab is the largest living arthropod. It is believed to have a life expectancy of up to 100 years. It also lives on cold water. A lot were taking a picture with this giant spider crab. I think this was the most popular among all.

Longhorn cowfish is a type of boxfish. When stressed, this species can exude a deadly toxin so beware!!

On Buhay na Karagatan, you'll get to experience a slice of ocean life! You can see a variety of fishes from Blue damsel to stingray.. It would be different, if you get to experience it.

After a long walk of Oceanarium journey, we tried out the fish spa that costs 120php for 20 minutes.
This Doctor Fish or also known as Nibble fish consume dead skin cells.. The process is free of pain and does not hurt, but you'll feel a tingling sensation on your feet.! Believe me, it tickles! While we're having fish spa, we also read the story behind it. It was pretty cool.

Manny Pacquiao and Crab Mentality

I was listening to Good times with Mo right now and their callers were giving their opinions regarding the recently concluded (and proudly ended by Pacquiao) the Dream Match against Dela Hoya. Two of their callers voiced out that the match was staged, and that Dela Hoya was just being a business man and was in it for the money.

And I agree with what Mo and Grace Lee were pushing for. I mean, come on, this clearly is a sign of Crab Mentality striking us again as Filipinos. Why can't we just accept that Manny Pacquiao IS a great boxer, and is comemorated as the best pound-by-pound boxing fighter in the world, and that he can beat Oscar Dela Hoya just like this?

Would you really think that as someone as great as Oscar Dela Hoya, would concede for the money? Would let his pride be pummeled, throwing away his legacy? Pacquiao simply was the faster, fitter, and better fighter that day, on that square ring, with people watching. Let's say Dela Hoya went for the money, but why didn't he give a KO to Pacquiao? That would have skyrocketed his earnings if he was the one promoting the fight. But no. He just had to give up, because he's a true blue boxer, and wouldn't want to get knocked out, if he had the chance.

Let's just be proud that somewhere out there, a Filipino is etching his name in the world. Let us all be inspired by what he has done for the country, and that in our own little ways, we could someday be like him.

It's a great morning today.. so yeah. :D While I was looking back on some missed plurks over the weekend (I only get the chance to surf and post during office. LOL), I stumbled upon kizika's plurk regarding the an upcoming toycon. Since I recently converted into a Gundamaniac, I just had to take a look at this event.

It has a tagline of "there's always a good side in every bad guy[s]", so maybe their "good side" is to let you buy them for Christmas. So they can corrupt you and rule the world. XD I see Apocalypse of X-Men, Dr. Doom of Marvel, The Joker, Chucky, a Zaku, and one mean-looking You-Know-Who. ToyCon

qOmpute - an AIR application

I'm going to share to you our simple AIR application name qOmpute - time computing. It is a dekstop application, made using Adobe Flex Builder, that will allow user to track your total office hours.

Good thing about Adobe AIR is that it allows you to create a database of its own. We used the database to track the inputs made by the user. To build a database on Adobe Flex Builder, below is a sample code:

For you to better understand the code above, I'll explain it further. The storage of file can either be on applicationsDirectory, desktopDirectory, userDirectory, applicationStorageDirectory, or documentsDirectory. We have to make sure that the connection to the database is open and the createStmt variable is linked to a SQLConnection instance. We use "IF NOT EXISTS" to make sure that there is no duplicate table. And after the SQL statement has been executed, we have to close the current database connection. qOmpute is a simple AIR application that helped us compute for our OJT (On-The-Job-Training) or Practicum hours. As we add more dates, the total number of hours continues to add up. It follows a time format of hh:mm and 12-hour format. And 1 hour is always deducted for lunch break. qOmpute uses the component DateField so you don't have to key in the date.

The time-in and time-out follows a strict format of hh:mm. Semi-colon is used to separate the hour from the minutes. On the time-out text field, user can just press the enter key or click the add button to save the new inputs made.

Of course, we should always provide a Help information in case the user have any problems encountered in the process. Help function can be found at the upper right corner of qOmpute. It has simple description of the application and the limitations in using it.

Hello everyone! Well, to introduce our blog, this is little project shared by me, Vin, and my girlfriend, Kaye, who have decided to put up a blog about our interests to all of you. It all started with us learning Adobe Flex 3, and AIR, and thought, "Hey, why not put up a site where we can share cool Flex and AIR applications that can help people be more productive, like a widget in their desktop?"

And so this is the result. As you can see, it has a lot of potential(there's basically NO content yet, so yeah. ^^), but we hope you check out our blog once in a while to see what we can give you guys and gals, okay? It'll basically contain what our hearts and minds could think and share as of the moment, so feel free to look around.
